I was doing some Facebook integration on a different WordPress site today, and came across a plugin called the “Like Gate”
Apparently, you can “hide” certain content and it only gets revealed when the like button is pressed – this gains you new fans to your Facebook page, and your web visitor gets the content you’ve revved them up to see!
Like this:
Your mind will be blown by reading the following article! Honestly! You won’t believe your eyes!
[like-gate]
Told you! ![]()
[/like-gate]
So there you have it. Its really easy to install, activate and use. Just wrap your protected content with a [ like-gate ] at the start, and a [ /like-gate ] at the end.
Update:
It doesn’t seem to work though – even though I liked the page, it doesn’t show the content I put in between the tags – see above. Its probably a conflict with some other Facebook plugins I have also installed.
Oh well – time to deactivate.
